Prof. Braj Bhushan, presently serving as the Deputy Director of the institute, is a Professor in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences. 
 

He received his master’s degree from Banaras Hindu University in 1995, and PhD in Neuropsychology from BRAB University in 2003. He joined IIT Kanpur as a faculty in 2006. 
 

Prof. Braj brings with him extensive administrative experience as Dean of Administration and Head of the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences. Before this, he has also held several administrative positions at IIT Kanpur as well as other Institutions. He is an accomplished researcher in the areas of Cognitive Neuropsychology, Affective Science, and Trauma Psychology. His outstanding contributions to the field of psychology specifically in the areas of Affective Processing, Psychological Assessment, and Early Detection of Developmental Disorders such as Autism have been recognized globally. 
 

Prof. Braj holds numerous national and international recognitions to his credit. He is an elected Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, Washington, DC, USA, and an elected Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
