A 5-day ATAL online course on 'Advances in Metal and Multi-material 3D Printing' conducted by Prof. J. Ramkumar and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Imagineering Laboratory is organized by IIT Kanpur from 16-20 July 2021.

Prof. Uday Shankar Dixit from IIT Guwahati inaugurated the course while giving the opening talk on ‘Introduction to the Contemporary status of Additive Manufacturing’ to the participants. The second and the third sessions were on ‘Materials for Additive Manufacturing’ and ‘Fundamentals for Multi-material Processing’ delivered by Prof. Sudhanshu Shekhar and Prof. J. Ramkumar, IIT Kanpur.

The candidates asked a myriad of questions from the experts which were responded positively. Other speakers are from the reputed national institutes, IIT Madras, IIT Indore, NITTTR Mohali, IIT Kanpur, and industry specialists from the pioneer Additive Manufacturing companies such as Adroitec Engineering Solutions Pvt Ltd, Noida, who would give insights to the participants on multiple topics on Metal and Multi-material Additive Manufacturing. The course delegates are expected to gain skills in selecting the appropriate material for their process, choose the right set of processes for prototyping, and thoughtfully choose between subtractive and additive manufacturing for metal components.
